[SOLVED] Frequent BSoD, 3 times a day, BSoDs every 5 minutes when login screen.

Alright, my laptop's been fixed. They replaced my CPU, casing, keyboard, volume PCA, hard drive, and then updated my BIOS (which was updated). Thanks everyone!

Sorry, couldn't come back recently because I sent it in. Found a spare old laptop so I'm just typing out my post here. Found out that for some reason my warranty was extended from what was told me, so I sent my laptop in. Hopefully they manage to fix it. If not... yeah. MemTest turned out...

My computer's been acting up a lot since reinstall, actually 26 dumps already. I'm making a disc copy of Memtest right now; I'm also trying out that utility linked last post by Laxer. I'm just hoping it isn't my motherboard right now. I am currently in the process of updated to SP1 but I don't...

[SOLVED] Frequent BSoD, 3 times a day, BSoDs every 5 minutes when login screen.

I ran chkdsk, and it fixed the HPTOOLS partition. Not sure if it means anything but I haven't blue screened within the last hour and a half or so (was BSODing every few minutes before chkdsk ran). EDIT: More like chdksk ran itself.

Machine feels a lot faster. I wonder if I can replace the HDD. Might have a spare lying around. Do I require a specific HDD for HP laptops or can I just grab any old one?

I remembered that I had a Windows 7 Ultimate Edition x64 disc, so I reformatted everything and just installed from that. If it helps, initially I was trying to recover from the recovery partition, but it kept freezing at 99% or 83%. Occasionally it would blue screen (though I wasn't at the...

[SOLVED] Frequent BSoD, 3 times a day, BSoDs every 5 minutes when login screen.

That was troublesome, my laptop kept BSoDing DURING the Windows 7 installation. It said something about NTFS.sys causing it, which leads me to believe my harddrive has problems. Also I got another BSoD while I was installing drivers onto my laptop.

I still bluescreen. How should I go about a fresh install? If you guys need it, I'm uploading minidumps right now. There are about 10 or so. Maybe they will help.

I managed to rename it by editing the Properties > Security thing. Thanks anyways! Gonna leave my laptop overnight and see how it goes. I uninstalled UltraMon this time, and changed the name of both AMDTools64.sys files.

I can't rename AMDTools64.sys, it says I need permission from SYSTEM.. I disabled UltraMon and it did nothing. Renamed AMDTools64.sys in two instances (one in the System32/drivers folder, the other in the System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\amdtools.inf_amd64_neutral_17e9bcdeeb1f33d5). Not...

Got another 4 blue screens with dump files. Here they are: Also when I tried running that AMD tool my computer just locked up and died kinda. Resetting it fixed it though.

I would much rather avoid doing a clean install if possible... I have a lot of stuff that I have no way to back up on this laptop.. :(
