Windows 8.1 is not Booting

I can edit Windows 8.1 registry by loading hives and modify system files through windows 7. If someone needs logs for fixing the problem, tell me which all you need and how to get it and I will post it. Any help is appreciated Abhinav M S

Windows 8.1 is not Booting

Thanks for the fast reply bassfisher6522, The Refresh didn't work. I can't Reset as I have lots of important files in my PC and no External Hard Disk for creating backup. System Restore won't work as I have not created any restore point. Please help Abhinav M S

[SOLVED] Jump List Not Working properly

Thank you patrick for the reply. I never used to run CCleaner ,i ran it only after the problem occured hoping it will fix it. I did a full system scan, Disk clean up and the restarted and the problem went away by itself. But anyway thanks for putting your effort for helping me.:thumbsup2...

Thanks Richard for the reply Yes KB2938527 is the only update failing (it is the only update pending to install) I downloaded it manually but it is stuck maybe around 20% then it is showing that updates are not installed
