Windows Update Error 800F0900 Vista32bit

I did not get a "copy" of windows from anywhere. I purchased my laptop from Dell years ago that came preinstalled with authentic Microsoft and Windows software. This issue did not occur until I followed the steps above yesterday. Which has made my laptop worse obviously.

once you click the link in the screenshot " go online and resolve now" it loads a page to microsoft page that runs a WINDOWS VALIDATION TOOL that has a result of the validation was interrupted, and offers me the option to purchase new windows 7 software.
