I've many programs, also very large ones, so reinstalling Windows (7/8?) is not really an option. I have no idea what could have caused this, perhaps the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8? Also, would it be worthwhile, when things can get corrupted again thereafter (for no apparent reason)? Is...
