Well thanks for that, very disappointed with this turn of events. How would I go about making recovery disks? and is there a way I can find out exactly what is wrong with it? Thanks so much for your advice Usasma this laptop is about 3 years old so the warranty is expired :thud:and Well Richard...

Its a Hewlett Packard laptop HP G71. I have already backed up my files onto some dvd r disks when i first started experiencing problems and nothing too important just mostly music, pictures and a whole lot of sims 3 haha.

My windows log on issues disappeared after i ran chkdsk but i am still going to use Seatools just in case if something was missed. Thanks for asking around i truly appreciate the help.

Haha yeah, you weren't kidding about being patient. Sfc went through perfectly though so thats a plus.

I was having computer troubles ( crashing, unable to log on or it was taking at least 20 minutes to log on, it took another 20 minutes to log on with me looking at a black screen until everything came up) so i did an error checking on my computer (C:) i had to restart it to do the check drive...
