Didn't report on that: I have exported the ControlSet001\Services "folder" from the "good image" hive to a .reg file, removed the relevant "folder" from the "bad image" hive while working on a Windows 10 PC (for that I had to add permissions to myself to do that), edited the path in the .reg...

I tried the startup repair from my PC (booting from hard drive) AND from the boot media as well. Without success. Anyway, reinstalling Windows and then reinstalling all the apps. I still have one software to which I am not sure if the seller will allow me to recover the key, but that one was...

I did try to do that (boot from usb intallation media), but when booting and choosing to update the system keeping settings and apps (1st option, second one is normal install), it tells (in my language) that the update option is unavailable if the setup is run from windows installation media. To...

This would be my first choice but in order to do that I need to be able to boot into a working system first. This neither works from Windows recovery environment (AFAIK) nor by directly booting from USB.

Well, on first boot it didn't even show the rotating dots and just remained with black screen. On second boot remains on rotating dots. I'l porbably try to find a Windows 10 machine to edit the registry hive again.
