[SOLVED] win10 won't update after 1703

removed the wifi-card, replaced the wireless mouse with an ordinary usb-mouse and..... it worked !!!!!!! Update to 1803 succeeded You're fantastic, thanks a lot for your help

[SOLVED] win10 won't update after 1703

tried to update again, same problem: black screen after 75%, computer off/on, then the rest of the update; Result a very bad version 1803, back to 1703 after shutdown and restart. now I'm sure the added files are the most recent. is there a log file I can get or make while in '1803'-mode?

now I see there are many setuperr.log's and setupact.log's. I hope these are the one you need (are from Windows\System32\Logfiles\setupcln)

[SOLVED] win10 won't update after 1703

I had selected 'extended self-test' (see screen shot attached to previous reply) The other tests are even shorter. When I select my hard-drive (d:) the estimated duration is a few hours. But windows is installed on c:, the ssd. Which one do I have to test?

a few hours? done in 2 minutes, so I'm not sure I did it right my c-drive is a ssd. Is it this drive I had to test? In 'attributes' nothing red

almost.... installation went fine until 75%, then blackscreen. But after turning off/on it continued! After a long time the warning: c:\windows\sytem32\config\systemprofile\desktop missing Then a screen with only a (in dutch 'vuilbak' = garbage bin?) The windows icon left under does nothing...
