Okay thanks to your efforts and patience, we have some progress; I think I shed a tear when I realized the scan was running. And no more syntax error, the CBS file was copied to the desktop. The message after the scan said WRP found some corrupt files but was unable to fix them.

Sfc /scannow will not run, got the usual "WRP could not perform the requested operation" error. Also won't run "copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt" and says the "syntax of the command is incorrect." I went to the c:\windows\logs folder and copied the attached file to...
