Well, as i do not own an win8 machine, my answers would have to be based on what i've searched in the last minute, and the answer seems that it's not enough protection, however if you want to see reviews for yourself, as i can't right now, you can search or follow up...

I would recomend uninstalling McAfee, but i know the user above me previous post would not support this, however, windows defender doesn't protect you fully, at least if you're using Winodws 7, it was changed in 8. I'd recommend ESET Smart security if your willing to afford one, if not, MSE or...

Well, i'm going to apologize because i did not see he was receiving assistance from malware removal team as this topic is still open... this is also some rules in what you call "tech" forums, some mods should close this then. And what does that links prove? No real time perfomance or detections...

Im positive that only one detected the 460, or i misread? Post that one, if i misread, post the full scan latest one you did. If you want a paid AV i suggest you ESET NOD32, it's one of the best out there, you won't regret it. And yes, McAfee is complete trash, i don't even need to re-tell...

It could be alot easier to explain if you show us the log it created when it detected that 460 objects, you can find it in the "reports" or "logs" section of the program. Btw, please uninstall McAfee, it's complete trash, anyone out there is better than that, though, my opinion.
