Please accept my apologies for the delay, I was off for a while with a work-related injury. I have run the Side by Side export and put it on Sendspace: Download SxS from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way In answer to your question, I have not attempted to install Windows 10 on this PC.

Thanks, it seems to have run, there were no error messages on the command prompt screen. It returned to the C:\windows\system32> prompt with no other message. I haven't restarted my PC yet.

When I put in copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt, it says "The syntax of the command is incorrect." Putting just "%windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt", it says "Access is denied".

(It did say "stage 1 of 6 failed at server" in the command window when it ran. The other stages seemed to run okay.)

Thank you! I'll give it a try now. I don't want to change to Windows 8.1. How do I get "sfc.exe" to appear? sfc.zip downloads when I click on it, which lets me then move that to my desktop. But I can't see "sfc.exe" anywhere.
