Ok, thanks for laying out the options. I guess it makes sense for me to first try to track down a Windows disc with SP1. I guess since I am using W7 Ultimate, the disc will also need to be Ultimate edition, right? Failing that, I will try removing SP1 and doing repair install from my own disc...

No, my disc does not say SP1 on it anywhere. Also I bought it some time before SP1 was released.

After a very long time searching, it found 10 updates and installed all but these 4: KB3161561 KB3164035 KB3170455 KB3162835
