I've tried using an external keyboard. The keyboard works but I'm not sure how to disable the built-in keyboard to test.

Hi Corrine, I restored the PC to an earlier restore point but the problem was not resolved. I finally have reset the PC: reinstalled windows while leaving my data intact. That too has not resolved the problem. Sometimes it works and other times the problems reappear. I have no idea what is...

Very well understood, Corrine. Thanks very much for the information. I did actually do a systems restore to the 13th August 2016 but it did not resolve the problem. I'll try another further back and see what happens. Thanks.

Hi Corrine, Thanks very much for your reply. I've taken your advice and uninstalled UNIBLUE POWERSUITE. You're right about the software; it sometimes get flagged as malware. I mainly used it to update my device drivers and to clean the registry. I guess I'll stick to CCLEANER for cleaning...

Ok guys. I removed McAfee and activated Windows Defender and every thing seems to work well so far. How long do you think I should keep the test going? Thanks for all your help so far. I truly appreciate it.
