Thank you for replying. Is there an alternative solution for bad sectors besides replacing it? I have heard about relocating the sectors somewhere else on the drive--would you recommend this?

[SOLVED] SFC unable to operate

Due to certain hardware issues, I preformed the sfc /scannow command but it stopped at 72% with this message: "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation." I have already done the chkdsk command before this. It would be greatly appreaciated if someone could assist me...

[SOLVED] SFC unable to fix files

Hello :) I bought my laptop 2 years ago, (I think October 2011). The sfc /scannow has found no problems and so has CHKDSK. I'm guessing it's my HDD failure that is causing all my problems, as they are still present (e.g. "wifi adapter undetected")... sigh, I guess I can contact for a warranty...

[SOLVED] SFC unable to fix files

The "Fix all - Fast", "Fix all - Long" and "Short Drive Self Test" (sorry, I didn't know what to do so I did all of them) have failed. However, the SMART Test passed. Does this mean I must purchase a new laptop as my hard drive failed? Also, can I run the SFC fix now? Thank you very much!

[SOLVED] SFC unable to fix files

I cannot run the HDD Diagnostics as Seatools for DOS boots up fine, but it can't detect my hard drive... Any help with this? I have a Dell Inspiron N5110 laptop w/ Intel Core i3 Windows 7 Home Premium and a "ST9500325AS Momentus 5400.6 SATA 3GB/s 500-GB Hard Drive" Thanks :)

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but were unable to fix some of them." It's still happening, and I ran it 4 times. I've attached my new CBS.log below. I'll be awaiting your reply :) Thanks!
