Sorry, I don't know what that means. The box has a single, 8GB module, and I don't have any others. There are two slots. Maybe I should try the other.

I re-seated the memory module again and restarted the test. Midway through the second pass, there are no errors yet found. Doesn't seem odd, if it's the module, that re-seating it would have any effect?

I see. Too bad. The PassMark test has already found a bunch of memory errors, a little more than halfway through the first pass. So reseating the module did not fix that problem, after all.

Doesn't it seem like the best hypothesis at this point is corrupt system files (from previous crashes)? I will try re-running the memory test.

Fortunately, the disk seems to be trouble free. I performed the "extended self-test" and it was "completed without error".

We may be pretty well out of the weeds. I reran SFC and SURT, which completed without errors. The Windows update that kept failing is now installed. Please let me know if there's anything more I should do.

I ran the memory test, and on the first pass it found 64 errors in about five different tests. So I stopped the test and opened and cleaned the inside of the box and pulled and reseated the memory module. I re-ran the test for eight passes, and it finished with no errors. (I would attach the...
