IIS 6 & SMTP Snap-in missing on Server 2012 R2

After an apparent successful install of IIS 6 & SMTP on Server 2012 R2, the IIS 6 snap-in is not listed when using MMC. Moreover, when attempting to load from the Server Manager menu, MMC throws a 'not able to create plug-in' error. There is very little in the Event Viewer and I have done...

That seems to have done the trick. IE 11 successfully installed and Updates appear to be working normally. Thanks for all your work on this :)

...Ox80073712 error and Server is now in 'Maintenance in progress' mode whatever that is :/ Seems like it's been that way since yesterday. Logfile.PML here -> Logfile.zip CBS.log here -> CBS.zip

Unfortunately no. All the reset of our server are 2012 R2. I may have a 2012 install DVD somewhere though is that could help.
