Nope! Sorry but that is a myth. There is no law or regulation that requires it. They do need to have parts available during the warranty period once production of that model has stopped. But that's it. How long do carmakers have to provide replacement parts for older cars? Orphan Cars And The...

Microsoft is blocking Windows 11 build upgrades on systems with StartAllBack

I have to wonder if Microsoft managers/developers made a conscious decision to block StartAllBack, or not. I don't believe it was a decision. I think it is just something their algorithms picked up. I say that because AFAIK the very popular StartAllBack alternatives, Start11 and Open Shell...

Is there a way to prevent the extension from being automatically created when saving a file with the same name?

Ummm, following your steps above, that is not what happens with me. When I try to save the paint file as file, it saves it as file.jpg. It never suggested .txt. Again, the OS does not allow two files with the same name in the same folder.

I am confused. Windows will not let you save two files with the same name. It will automatically change filename.jpg to filename2.jpg for example, or pop up an error message asking if you want to overwrite the existing file. The problem with removing or having no extension is then Windows will...

I find it interesting that the Premium editions I have running full time on this PC and my laptop have yet to be offered V5 and now, almost a month after the release of V5, V5.1x is out there. Even when I tell it to check for updates, it still does not find V5.x and I'm still stuck with V4.6.11...
