The issue appears to be with the W10 installer specifically. I'm investigating this further and will report what I figure out.

There's nothing connected to this computer. Just an internal harddrive. There have been a few Windows and Office updates trickling in since. Installed them with no errors. FRST logs attached. Any thoughts on these repeated entries, noting that ChkDsk finds no issues. Error: (01/12/2021...

I encounter a new issue now. I've tried it a couple times. This appears while it's in the process of readying to do the Windows 10 upgrade.

attached. Here is the results of the chkdsk that ran when it rebooted. It found no errors. Checking file system on C: The type of the file system is NTFS. Volume label is System. One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended...

After a reboot more updates were found and installed successfully. I really hope that wasn't the issue from the start. :-( Though I'm sure I would have googled that error way back when. So it may have only gotten a little further after all the fixes I've done from here. Next step... W10 upgrade.

Well... a little googling re 80092004 and I found out that KB4490628 was needed. "Addresses an issue in the servicing stack when you install an update that has been signed by using only the SHA-2 hash algorithm". KB4454419 "SHA-2 code signing support update" is also required, but that one was...
