KB3126587 update error - Server 2008R2 (Virtual)

Followed the instructions, ran step 2 and reported no errors. Moved on to step 3, downloaded System Update Readiness Tool for Server 2008R2 x64 edition (KB947821). Windows stand alone installer runs but after a couple of moments up pops a screen stating that 'some updates were not installed'...
