Oh ty sir for the reply. I will get a new converter and see if that rectifies the problem of blacking out, and not waking up problem might hopefully go away too. I dearly hope it is not the graphics card though, as I think graphics cards these days cost a lot. The monitor that blacks out- well...

Update: Now my monitor has started blacking out for a couple of seconds every now and then as I am using it, maybe it is going to die on me. :( Or maybe it could be the VGA to HDMI converted that is going to give up the ghost. I have no idea what is wrong. It could even be my Nvidia Graphics...
