Alas, no luck. Same result. Really frustrating. The failure is immediate, which gives me the impression that it is a flag or some registry entry that is corrupt or something. It does not even try installing! Anyway, enough for tonight. I will look at this tomorrow when I am fresh. One again...

I have tried to Install again but got the same error. I am going to re-boot just in case and try again. If still a problem then I may have to repair. Not looking forward to it. Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated. Enjoy the break...Andre

Hi Tom, I do not have a Checksur log, only a zipped file called Checksurlog.cab. I tried to attach it but the attach gave a red exclamation mark. If I rename it to .Zip it will not open. There is a file dism.log and output.txt inside which I attached instead...Tx...Andre
