@RobTheSwede I feel you. For what it's worth, just random chance; there are drives we've got that are chugging along fine for decades, drives that just fail. I refuse to use SSDs, for example, because every single one I've had or come into contact with has failed and been entirely unrecoverable...

So, update; this appears to have fixed my sound issue, but unfortunately, LatencyMon reported bighuge numbers again. I'd been going through a list of potential offenders to try to push it - but seeing those 18K latencies again was just incredibly disheartening. I don't feel comfortable randomly...

@piorun321 Do you mind running LatencyMon for about two hours, and telling me what you get? I think I might have solved a similar issue, and I'm curious to see what yours looks like, right now. Also do what ubuysa suggests, I just want to start thinking about this in case I can help.
