Those are MAJOR problems at the other Forum — unwarranted interference AND no intuition. If it's not in "black and white", they can't fathom it. Intuition or deducting by inference is largely how I operate and more often than not, my "gut feelings" are correct.

I'm going to have to go into the Help section here to find out how to simply reply to PMs and learn how to incorporate "Smilies".

I haven't, as yet, checked the Forum Posts here but, will definitely do so. Maybe I can be of some assistance without the unwanted interference I get elsewhere. TTYL :)

I suppose I'm as well as can be expected. I know what (and who) you mean by "Google Expert(s)". I've simply refused to "get into it" with him/her/them and boy, are they all over those Forums/Threads "correcting" everyone INCLUDING plodr! I'm waiting for one of the staff to be "corrected" goodbye bozo(s).

    Hi, satrow!

I hadn't seen any recent posts from you in our "other" forum and was wondering if you were OK. Apparently, you are and that's good news. Plodr informed me of your promotion here. Congrats!

Yeah....this new URL parser has been a real pain to be honest. It's important for the forward motion of site development and security, but that doesn't mean I have to like it!

Just a heads up that I do note the difficulties you are having with the URLs in your last post because of the square brackets. Our old URL parser didn't suffer from this trouble. I'll see if there's anything I can do to bend the new one to our will.

Thanks for explaining all of that for me, I really appreciate it! I'll have a play once I get my new build set up. On this old laptop, the CPU usage is through the roof.

Thanks! I've posted it. How can you use the kernel times graph to tell that? Would the lines just have similar spikes?

    Hi Satrow,

Thanks for the tip! It sounds like a winner :) Do you mind if I post that? I don't have Vista any more, so I have no way of checking. When I get my build up and running, I can finally get a load of VMs set up.
  10. Thanks my friend, good to be here.

My guess is almost none but I've not done it. I'd say you may get a popup error at boot if it tries to load, which can be clicked away. Make a Restore point first then rename it from Safe Mode....
