Everything outside the OS environment is alien, to me

So I guess that makes me about as sysnative as it gets. Hello all. Cool community. Super stoked that I just stumbled upon it. I am an MCSE but haven't worked in the networking field for five or so years, now. I left the field to design my desktop interface software and it is doubtful I will ever return to consulting, as I am probably way behind current tech.

But I don't need new tech cause I'm living and dying on 7, I'm never touching 10. I understand that MS wants to get the jump on Google by beginning the tracking and pattern catching locally, before the user hits the web, so they can cash in. But, to me, it is an unacceptable situation.

The simple fact is that anything that can be done on 10 can be done on 7. But NOT everything that can be done on 7 can be done on 10. That is all that matters, to me. I'm not ranting. I'll rant later :)

Really looking forward to this community. I'll help when I can and ask when I need it. (which will likely be later today as I have a lame CBS.log that I am not able to figure out)

I should also add that custom Windows Deployment disks were my specialty, when I left. The proudest moment of my life was the first time a flawless install occurred with my configuration... after many many failed attempts, initially.

And I have Asperger's Syndrome (autism.... kinda autism... ).. so i'm much more comfortable with the machines than people.. Until Google becomes Skynet. When that happens I will switch teams.

    Welcome to Sysnative Deema.

I'm never touching 10. I understand that MS wants to get the jump on Google by beginning the tracking and pattern catching locally, before the user hits the web, so they can cash in. But, to me, it is an unacceptable situation.
If this is your reason for avoiding W10, you have been misguided and misinformed.

It is important to understand there is a HUGE difference between privacy and security. W10 is, by far, the most secure Windows to date. As for privacy, Microsoft is NOT trying to steal your passwords, learn your real identity, your street address, your contacts, or hack into your bank accounts. Nor are they trying to compromise your computer to use for nefarious deeds.

In reality, you have much more to fear from your ISP and your cell phone carrier (and Google and Facebook) than you do Microsoft.

The simple fact is that anything that can be done on 10 can be done on 7
Sorry, that is just not true. I have found nothing I could do in W7 that I cannot do in W10-except, maybe, run obsolete, legacy software and support legacy hardware. Remember, W7 is already nearly 8 years old!

as I am probably way behind current tech.
IT is industries within industries - nobody can stay current in all areas.
