It can barely handle Windows at all, it's a long shot, but is there anything I could do with it? It has a single core which is nearly at full load when using google.... The BIOS still dates back to 2007 ish so it's never been updated; would it be worth doing anything at all? Any recommendations on what I could use it for?

Run the collection app and attach the output: BSOD Posting Instructions If you haven't already - try reinstalling Windows or just use the factory reset option if it has one. A re-install can make the slowest computers usable again. I'm guessing it has Vista? If you're happy with Linux, give Lubuntu a whirl - lubuntu | lightweight, fast, easier. It's a very lightweight version of Ubuntu based on LXDE. -Stephen

It started with Vista, then I installed 7, the problem was that it could barely handle two tabs on Google Chrome; I installed XP and it works better, although it's still pretty bad. I'll run the collection app soon. I might give Lubuntu a try actually.

There's practically nothing installed out of the box though apart from the sheer basics, so you'll need to install some things to make it really usable.

It also won't run the BSO collection app as 'the configuration is incorrect', it suggests reinstalling the app... which I have done... Also, it's not really portable due to the amazing 30 minute battery life
