I've been having occasional blue screens over the past few months without being too sure what to do about it.
I've also been having other problems with my laptop which I'm not sure if they have to do with the bluescreens or not.
Demanding applications like video games (DotA 2, L4D2, even not very demanding games like Audiosurf, Starbound, or Ys) that used to run at 60~ FPS (DotA 2, L4D2) now run at around 10 FPS. Audiosurf/Starbound/Ys even run poorly at under 30 FPS average. For a Radeon 6990m which can handle pretty heavy duty applications at higher settings these things shouldn't be a problem. It isn't anything like overheating either.
During TI3 (a DotA 2 tournament) I found that opening up multiple live streams on Twitch.tv in chrome and minimizing them would for some reason temporarily fix the FPS issues. I found this out while trying to watch player cam streams while watching the game itself in the DotA 2 client. This weird fix worked for a good amount of time so I didn't really think about it. It eventually stopped working, and now my computer can't even handle nicer blueray video files without huge frame drops.
I know this isn't really a "ask your stupid questions" thread, but I figured the background information might be helpful in solving the bluescreen issues.
