    Re: [W8.1] Random/Frequent ntoskrnl.exe BSOD's

UPDATE: The testing got delayed, once again to life. But I've got free time this weekend finally. So saturday night I am going to run the test, in the morning if it catchs errors I will go ahead and test each stick & slot indivdually. Im hoping that its just one stick (I mean, with how random and inconsistent the crashes are It makes me believe it is just one stick), as I don't have alot of extra money to get a new one currently.

For example, the PC didnt crash for 3 days then just sort of did whilst I was gone, same error as before.

Best case is that its just one stick, as I should be able to still use the system with one stick. I'll post another update once I get this done, sorry for the constant delays.

Got 2 dumps from crashes. Planning on doing some testing here soon on the RAM, could it possibly be the GPU since the last crashes pointed towards that being the problem? Dump files included in this post.

They don't point to the GPU. Please continue the RAM test procedure.

Alright, will do. I'll reply back once I've gotten everything tested.

    Re: [8.1] Random/Frequent ntoskrnl.exe BSOD's

So, there was a huge amount of dust caked up in the slot I find out, I cleaned it out and re-seated the sticks, I'm hoping it solved the issue, if not I'll be running a memtest.
Also oddly enough its picking up the 8GB of ram, but is only using 4 GB?
Installed memory: 8.00 GB (4.00 GB usable)

Really funky in all honesty, as before I cleaned and re-seated it was using 8 GB.

    Re: [8.1] Random/Frequent ntoskrnl.exe BSOD's

Could be, no clue. I'll try and swap them out in the slots and reseat to see if anything happens when I get the time.

    Re: [8.1] Random/Frequent ntoskrnl.exe BSOD's

Good news, I swapped the sticks around and re-seated. (One of them was not in all the way, whoops!)

8GB (both sticks) are back in use and the slots have been cleaned out, I really appreciate all the help!
The one time I did test the RAM (with the first Memtest I used) it caught a ton of errors, found a forum post that was the exact amount that I had (like 65000+ or something along those lines), they cleaned out the slots with an alcohol swab, and it wound up working.

I'll test the RAM again later this week to check if they are good, but I'm thinking it was just that dust was packing it up!
If anything happens I will post it up here or create a new thread, I'm pretty sure the dust was the problem though, we shall see. I'll let the PC run for a few days.

    Re: [8.1] Random/Frequent ntoskrnl.exe BSOD's

Well that didn't last long. Got a bluescreen, completely different error then what I have been getting, maybe it is bad RAM after all, bleh.

I've already tested the HDD before, I'll be mem-testing the RAM here soon as this is driving me mad now.

    Re: [8.1] Random/Frequent ntoskrnl.exe BSOD's

Just woke up to find that Memtest has not found any errors, it has done 10 passes... tested both sticks.
So what else could be the problem then??

Alright got the captures, should be all the tabs (that give info)

Also my internet has only been dropping whilst I've been using this PC (which has the ethernet cord connected in the back), didn't happen until I updated my Realtek adapter from that post awhile back.
