Re: [Win8.1 x64] 0x50 memory_corruption: A strange recurring BSOD issue
So it's been a BSOD free week. I'd say that's resolved, but another strange issue has come up.
At random times while watching videos on YT, IE freezes and the screen goes a solid color (grey, green, blue or sth else).
Checked HW acceleration, checked cable, cleaned GPU drivers with DDU and went back to the previous version.
No issues under load whatsoever, I can play games for hours, the GPU is very cool.
Tried Chrome, so far no issues.

Re: [Win8.1 x64] 0x50 memory_corruption: A strange recurring BSOD issue
Another thing:
I frequently get: Your system needs to be repaired messages upon startup which seem to be remedied by a reboot.
The unusual thing is the crashes NOW seem isolated to IE, when I use it to browse, and especially Youtube, crashes within minutes UNLESS I launch it without addons.
When it crashes the screen flickers.

Re: [Win8.1 x64] 0x50 memory_corruption: A strange recurring BSOD issue
Sorry for the slow response!
I've seen systems state that the operating system needs to be repaired after reboot a few times after a BSOD, so it's likely to be a generic message which is displayed due to an unrecoverable error.
The latest dump files all appear to be related to memory corruption of some sort, there was a call stack with a number of graphics related calls, which might help to explain the flickering which has been occurring. However, each dump doesn't appear to contain much information about the cause of the crash.
I've had a similar issue with my work computer, it constantly crashed (BSOD) when Visual Studio was being launched, so it likely to simply be a coincidence.
Considering that the system doesn't appear to crash in Safe Mode, it is likely to still be a driver issue instead of a hardware issue. Which programs are typically running when the system crashes?

Re: [Win8.1 x64] 0x50 memory_corruption: A strange recurring BSOD issue
Nothing but IE. I can literally turn on the computer, open IE, go to YT and boom a crash.
I do the same thing with Chrome, nothing, I can watch them all day long.

Re: [Win8.1 x64] 0x50 memory_corruption: A strange recurring BSOD issue
I've tried running IE with -extoff, but it helps for a short time only (a few minutes). If I don't get a BSOD, I get a solid colored screen from which I can only hard reboot. If you still want the SS, let me know and I'll provide.

It seems you didn't try to reset msie.
You could try it and see if it helps (it should remove all add-ons).
Export favourites, retrieve your passwords and so forth, before the reset.

OK, I've managed (hopefully) to fix the solid colored screens by disabling the frickin' Adobe Flash Player.

Re: [Win8.1 x64] 0x50 memory_corruption: A strange recurring BSOD issue
The fact that you have different memory modules might well be an issue. I think you have explored this but I would recommend that you try a matched pair and see if it makes any difference.

Bios version is still 156 (it seems you didn't update it):

Re: [Win8.1 x64] 0x50 memory_corruption: A strange recurring BSOD issue
I'm reluctant to try BIOS again. It worked fine up to a few months or so ago. I may try upgrading to the Fall Update when it comes out if I can based on the influx of work.
