A quick test checks for common errors with the processor, hard drive, memory, and optical drive. But i choose a full test that performs a thorough analysis of a system. Into that scan my laptop crashed again. I didn't see the BSOD but i have a program called BlueScreenView and i looked at it. It shows no bug check string but that address in stack was again ntoskrnl.exe. I attached the latest bsod minidump. Attachments 091816-27687-01.zip 88 KB · Views: 5

From the Verifier enabled dumps, it looks like the crash was caused by PC-Doctor (specifically pcdrharddrive2.p5x), which is Dell bloatware that you do not need. The Inspiron 1464 is not officially supported by Dell for Windows 10, so I would not install anything additional from them. Uninstall Dell SupportAssist, or anything below C:\Program Files\Dell\SupportAssist\ / C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\SupportAssist\ and see if the crashes continue. I have had windows 7 for a long time on my laptop and would occasionally get BSODs. When i got the chance to upgrade to windows 10 i did so immediately. Still got the occasional BSOD but as before couldn't figure out the cause. For both windows the errors were just an annoyance; prob because i didn't use it much. But recently tried to actually use it and the BSOD got so bad that i couldn't load windows even in safe mode. restoring to an earlier date would help for a little but then the windows would become just as bad. So i did a clean install of windows 10 but immediately installed a lot of programs. Started to get similiar errors just less frequently and not as sever. So reset the windows 10 to beginning and only installed a few programs. Chose Avira as my Antivirus, read it was one of the best, with Windows Defender scanning also occasionally. Got first BSOD i believe and so installed a Dell Support Program (PC Doctor and Support Assist) to scan for problems. Every time i used dell support program to scan for CPU, Memory, Video Card, Hard Drive, and possibly battery the compute would crash. Resulting in most of those other BSODs. Since reading your post i have uninstalled all Dell support programs. Will install some of the other programs i had before i reset windows and will watch out for more BSODs.

The BSODs appeared occaisonally when i first installed windows 10. not sure how soon after installing windows 10 the first time. But not long after the 2nd and 3rd time. Using Avira because i read it was one of the best free antivirus'. Also just having defender also scan periodically. Sorry, but what do you mean by starting the pc with a memory (RAM) stick only?

For example, this is one of the DMPs from when you were playing AI War (091916-34171-01.dmp): Code: 00 ffffd400`0c7bb768 fffff802`b13d4229 nt!KeBugCheckEx 01 ffffd400`0c7bb770 fffff802`b13d39bc nt!KiBugCheckDispatch+0x69 02 ffffd400`0c7bb8b0 fffff802`b13cf4ad nt!KiSystemServiceHandler+0x7c 03 ffffd400`0c7bb8f0 fffff802`b12da9b1 nt!RtlpExecuteHandlerForException+0xd 04 ffffd400`0c7bb920 fffff802`b12d9764 nt!RtlDispatchException+0x421 05 ffffd400`0c7bc020 fffff802`b13d4302 nt!KiDispatchException+0x144 06 ffffd400`0c7bc6f0 fffff802`b13d25bd nt!KiExceptionDispatch+0xc2 07 ffffd400`0c7bc8d0 fffff807`b248d202 nt!KiGeneralProtectionFault+0xfd 08 ffffd400`0c7bca60 fffff807`b05883e9 dxgmms1!VIDMM_GLOBAL::EndCPUAccess+0xc2 09 ffffd400`0c7bcaa0 fffff807`b062374a dxgkrnl!VIDMM_EXPORT::VidMmEndCPUAccess+0x55 0a ffffd400`0c7bcae0 fffff807`b05edae4 dxgkrnl!DXGDEVICE::Unlock+0x11a 0b ffffd400`0c7bcb80 fffff802`b13d3d93 dxgkrnl!DxgkUnlock+0x114 0c ffffd400`0c7bcc40 00000000`633b3954 nt!KiSystemServiceCopyEnd+0x13 0d 00000000`05e2e398 00000000`00000000 0x633b3954 Intel does not have a Windows 10 driver for GMA 3150, so you are likely to continue to run into GPU related issues (more likely to appear when doing things like playing games). I would recommend at least installing the latest Windows 7 drivers for your GPU: Download Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 Driver for Windows 7* 64 bit If you want to keep at it on 10 after updating your GPU, I would recommend running Verifier again now that SupportAssist is gone, and suggest to not install additional programs until the issue is looked into further. Unless anyone else has suggestions as to probable causes, we basically just need to continue to try to track down the problematic driver, and hope it can either be updated or disabled. Edit: Also, I'm assuming that last collection was done before you uninstalled SupportAssist, as it looks like there are several Dell processes and services running. e.g. Code: Dell SupportAssist Agent SupportAssistAgent Running Auto Own Process "c:\program files (x86)\dell\supportassistagent\bin\supportassistagent.exe" Normal LocalSystem 0 Last edited: Sep 20, 2016

I wouldn't personally use any catch-all program like that, I believe it's best to manage your drivers manually. Often times they can cause unnecessary issues, and there are generally only a couple of drivers you need to be concerned about keeping completely up-to-date. Just recently started using the laptop again as well as bought some games to try.
