There messages that are indicated inside the Windows update log are: 0x80248014 = WU_E_DS_UNKNOWNSERVICE
Lets take a look a the Windows Update service.
Click on
Start -> in the search field type in
Services.msc -> Right click and choose
Run as Administrator -> go down until you see
Windows Update -> Double
- Double click on the service.
- If the server is Stopped please click on Start
- Set the startup type to Automatic
This is mainly just to see if any error messages come up.
Open up Command Prompt as administrator and enter each line in one by one
net start bits
net stop bits
sc queryex bits > 0 & sc queryex wuauserv>> 0 & sc qc bits >> 0 & sc qc wuauserv>> 0 & notepad 0
