Problems with certain Windows 8.1 Modern Apps crashing

Hello. I have an issue with certain Windows 8.1 modern appscrashing: namely Skype, Bing Finance (aKa Money), adope photoshop express, windows reading list. They all basically crash in the same way: they appear to be loading and then they auto-minimize to the desktop without any error message...

Ok, so now I can run SFC without it recording any errors. There does not seem to be a problem with my system; I can receive and install updates. However, DISM is still reporting that my component store is corrupted, and the error given when I used the /restorehealth command is as follows...
