I just wanted to say thank you for all your help. I put it off for a few weeks and finally decided to do the Repair Install and it went very smooth. The instructions at the link you posted were very complete and made the whole process very strait forward. Thanks again, Matt

Would the recovery install require an Windows 8 or 8.1 cd/dvd? My original install was Windows 8 Pro, but the issues didn't seem to start until after the 8.1 upgrade. I am working on a Windows 8.1 ISO as if the time of this post. Would all my apps need to be backed up as well? Thanks!

The files was too large for here so I used Dropbox for the file WindowsUpdate.log Thanks again for all your help!

Thanks for your continued help. I tried to run the command above and no files was placed on the desktop even after 3 attempts. Windows updates as normal then when the computer restarts it gets up to around 60% the states "We couldn't complete the updates, undoing changes. Don't turn off you...

Now with the corruption issue fixed , I need to address the problem that lead me to looking at the systems files.....the issue with Windows updates. I have been unable to update in a long time. I have tried the WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab which says it has corrected the issue(s), but...
